Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Azure API Management (APIM) Lead Consultant to architect, design, and implement enterprise-grade API solutions on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure API Management, .NET technologies, cloud-native architecture, microservices, integration patterns, and Azure platform services. This role will be responsible for leading API strategy, governance, security, and implementation while mentoring development teams and collaborating with business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of API solutions using Azure API Management (APIM).
- Develop and maintain backend services using C#, .NET Core, and ASP.NET Core.
- Design, develop, and manage RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures.
- Build and deploy serverless integrations and APIs using Azure Functions.
- Define and implement API security standards including:
- OAuth 2.0
- OpenID Connect (OIDC)
- JWT Authentication
- API Keys
- Rate Limiting and Throttling
- Configure APIM policies for:
- Security
- Traffic Management
- Caching
- Request/Response Transformation
- Monitoring and Analytics
- Integrate APIs with Azure services such as:
- Azure Functions
- Logic Apps
- Service Bus
- Event Grid
- Storage Accounts
- Key Vault
- Azure Monitor
- Design, optimize, and manage databases using Microsoft SQL Server.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and troubleshoot database performance issues using SSMS.
- Establish API governance, lifecycle management, versioning, and documentation standards.
- Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, architecture, and business teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, architectural reviews, and technical decision-making.




- Ensure high standards of application security, scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Mentor and guide developers on API design best practices and Azure integration patterns.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8+ years of software development and integration experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure API Management (APIM).
- Strong proficiency in:
- C#
- ASP.NET Core
- .NET Core
- Strong experience with:
- Azure API Management (APIM)
- Azure Functions
- Azure Integration Services
- Deep understanding of:
- REST APIs
- Microservices Architecture
- API Gateway Patterns
- Event-Driven Architectures
- Experience implementing API security standards including OAuth2, JWT, OpenID Connect, and Azure AD/Entra ID.
- Robust knowledge of the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- Hands-on experience with MS SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of API testing and documentation tools such as:
- Postman
- Swagger/OpenAPI
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Integration and API Management Specialization
- Experience with enterprise integration platforms.
- Exposure to containerization technologies such as:
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

This role is ideal for a senior API professional who can drive enterprise API strategy, lead Azure integration initiatives, and build scalable cloud-native solutions using Azure API Management.
