Key Responsibilities

Your primary mission is to develop high-yielding, climate-resilient wheat varieties tailored for the North Western Plains Zone (NWPZ) , North Eastern Plains Zone (NEPZ) and Central Zone (CZ).

Climate Resilience: Breed for high heat tolerance, specifically during the critical grain-filling stage (>35°C).

Disease Resistance: Screen and select for robust resistance against Brown and Yellow Rust.

Quality Attributes: Target excellent nutritional profiles, ensuring 10–12% protein content and 30–32% gluten.

Field Trials: Design, execute, and manage comprehensive wheat breeding field trials.





Requirements & Qualifications

Education: MSc or PhD in Plant Breeding, Genetics, or a closely related agricultural science field.

Experience: 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience in wheat or cereal breeding.

Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in pedigree selection methods and breeding data analysis.
