Alternative Path is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Data Support Engineer to support client projects in the asset management domain. The role involves monitoring data pipelines, troubleshooting data-related issues, resolving incidents within defined guidelines, and escalating complex issues to the appropriate teams.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and AWS services, along with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating with engineering and product teams.
Monitor data support issues and data pipelines to ensure timely resolution within defined SLAs.
Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues by following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Identify root causes of data pipeline failures and coordinate with relevant teams for resolution.
Escalate complex issues to L2 support or the appropriate on-call team when required.




Work with Python scripts and libraries to investigate and resolve data issues.
Use SQL to query, validate, and investigate data discrepancies.
Work with AWS services, including Amazon S3 and Redshift, to support data operations.
Maintain and improve support documentation, troubleshooting guidelines, and knowledge base articles.
Proactively identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to support processes.
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in Technical Support Engineering or a similar support role.
Hands-on experience with Python , preferably including libraries such as Pandas.
Good knowledge of SQL and database troubleshooting.
Experience working with AWS services , particularly Amazon S3 and Redshift.
Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
Experience using JIRA or similar ticketing systems.
Experience in B2B financial services or alternative asset management.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
