Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise - Frontend

Toast has grown to be a leading hospitality software company in the US and is now setting its sights on our next stages of growth. Toast customers who managed several restaurants a few years ago are now expanding their business and adding new locations. New enterprise customers are looking to leverage Toast technology to support the growth of their business in recent ways. Toast is looking for a Senior Software Frontend engineer to join our enterprise Away team. As a member of the enterprise team, you will help ensure that the product is being built to meet the new and expanding needs of these customers.You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate design concepts into functional and engaging user experiences. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of front-end technologies, a keen eye for design, and a commitment to delivering seamless UI/UX solutions.

Design, build, deploy, and maintain highly resilient and scalable front-end components and features across Toast's enterprise management products

Lead complex projects that improve functionality and reliability for our customers

Ensure quality by building automated testing for changes

Collaborate with UX and PM on the definition and design of features

5+ years experience in front-end development and API integrations

- Extensive experience working with web development languages and frameworks such as HTML, CSS, Java Script and React.
- Experience with GraphQL, RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling




- Experience shipping production services and balancing getting things done with platform stability and reliability
- Toast's products run on a stack that ranges from guest and restaurant-facing Android tablets to backend services in Java to internal, guest-facing and restaurant-facing web apps. Our backend services follow a microservice architecture written using Java 8 and DropWizard; we use AWS extensively, ranging from S3 to RDS to Lambda. Toast stores data in a set of sharded Postgres databases and utilizes Apache Spark for large scale data workloads including query and batch processing. The front-end is built primarily using React and ES6. The main Toast POS application is an Android application written in Java and Kotlin. For data between tablets and our cloud platform we operate RabbitMQ clusters as well as direct tablet communication to the back end.
