We are seeking a Head of Accounting to lead the accounting organization of a high-growth US company, working remotely from India.

You will set the standards, structure, and roadmap for the function, and lead the managers who run the close, revenue accounting, and accounting operations day to day. Reporting to the CFO or CEO, you will make sure accounting is ready for the company's next stage, whether a larger audit, an acquisition, or a current entity, before it is tested.

Leadership and Policy
Own the structure, roadmap, and hiring plan of the accounting organization.
Lead and develop Accounting Managers, Leads, and specialists.
Accounting policy.



Set the company's accounting policies and act as final reviewer on judgment-heavy matters.

Reporting and Technical Accounting
Financial statements. Stand behind consolidated financial statements under US GAAP in front of leadership, auditors, investors, and the board.
Technical accounting. Oversee conclusions on revenue recognition, leases, stock-based compensation, and debt and equity instruments.
Close performance. Set close cycle-time and quality targets and hold the team to them.

Controls, Audit, and Scale
Controls and audit. Build a control environment fit for the next stage, and own the external audit relationship.
Lead the accounting workstream for fundraising, M&A; diligence, and integration.
Own the accounting systems roadmap, including ERP, revenue, and close automation.

10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leading managers or a multi-layer team

- Experience as the senior accounting leader, or deputy to one, at a high-growth or complex company
- US GAAP, Ind AS, or IFRS experience, with substantial exposure to clients or entities in the US, UK, Canada, or Australia
- A track record of building or rebuilding an accounting function's policies, controls, and team




- Experience owning the external audit relationship
- Substantial experience with a major ERP, such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Microsoft Dynamics
- Strong written and spoken English, with executive-level presence
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification

CA (ICAI), US CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred; US CPA highly regarded
Experience using AI tools in accounting workflows, with the judgment to review and correct AI-generated output
Big 4 audit or technical accounting experience followed by industry leadership
Experience with ASC 718, M&A; accounting, or multi-entity consolidation
SOX-readiness or IPO-readiness experience
Experience at a venture-backed or PE-backed US company from Series B onward
