Backend Engineer (SDE II/ III) Experience: 4-8 Years

We are hiring a Backend Engineer (SDE3) to join our UPI team at Setu. This role is for engineers who want to build reliable, high-scale payment systems and take end-to-end ownership of meaningful backend problems. The team works on systems that demand scale, resilience, performance, and cost efficiency.

Design, build, and maintain backend services that power high-scale, low-latency payment systems.
Take end-to-end ownership of problem statements, from architecture and implementation to rollout and monitoring.
Continuously optimize performance and infrastructure costs, identifying opportunities to make our systems faster and leaner.
Collaborate with product, frontend, and infra teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
Follow and champion engineering best practices including testing, documentation, code reviews, and CI/CD automation.

Robust hands-on experience with Golang and related backend technologies.
Solid understanding of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, distributed systems, concurrency, and system design.
Experience in scaling backend systems or optimizing infrastructure costs at high scale.
Familiarity with AWS and observability tooling such as Grafana, Prometheus, and ClickHouse.
