We're now seeking a talented and experienced Mortgage Underwriter Assistant to join our remote operations team.
As a Residential Mortgage Underwriter , you'll support our underwriting team by helping package and review loan files with precision and speed. This is a remote position requiring consistent availability during Eastern Time business hours.
Assist in preparing and reviewing loan files for underwriting submission
Calculate borrower income (W-2, self-employed, rental, etc.)
Review and analyze asset and bank statements
Communicate clearly with processors and loan officers to gather required conditions
Update file notes and maintain data integrity in Encompass
3+ years of experience as a mortgage underwriter, MLO assistant, or processor with direct income/asset review duties
- Strong working knowledge of DU/LP, FHA/Conventional guidelines, and mortgage documentation
- Reliable internet connection and suitable home office setup
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Availability to work Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM ET
Previous experience working remotely for a U.S. mortgage company
