ER Head (Emergency Room Head) with an MBBS

Experience – Minimum 8+ years of experience in Emergency Medicine, Prior experience as ER In-charge / ER Lead / Senior RMO can be preferred, Multispecialty hospital experience is an added advantage.

Qualification – MBBS/ MD/ DNB in Emergency Medicine

Job Summary The ER Head is responsible for overall clinical, administrative, and operational management of the Emergency Department. The role ensures high-quality emergency medical care, efficient patient flow, compliance with hospital policies, and effective coordination with other clinical departments.





Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and supervise emergency medical services and patient care.
2. Ensure timely assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of emergency cases.
3. Handle critical and life-threatening cases efficiently.
4. Establish and monitor emergency treatment protocols and SOPs.
5. Ensure patient safety, quality care, and adherence to clinical standards.
6. Manage day-to-day operations of the Emergency Room.
7. Ensure optimal staffing, duty rosters, and shift management.
8. Coordinate with ICU, OT, diagnostics, ambulance, and other departments.
9. Monitor ER performance indicators such as TAT, patient outcomes,admissions.
10. Ensure compliance with NABH, legal, and regulatory requirements.
11. Lead, mentor, and train ER doctors, RMOs, nurses, and paramedical staff.
12. Conduct regular training, drills, and performance reviews.
13. Promote teamwork, discipline, and a patient-centric work culture.
14. Address staff grievances and ensure smooth interdepartmental coordination.
15. Ensure infection control, patient safety, and emergency preparedness.
16. Manage medico-legal cases and ensure proper documentation.
17. Participate in audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.
18. Handle emergency-related complaints and resolve escalations.
