Lead Insights Engineer

Woolworths Group India is partnering exclusively with Zinnov Group to recruit for this position.

About the role

We are looking for an Insights Engineer to develop insights in our Enterprise Insights tools in both Tableau and Looker environments deployed at Woolworths:

- To provide technical excellence and designs for Visualisation.
- To work with stakeholders to ensure requirements around Tableau/Looker requirements are captured.
- To design cost-effective, quality, innovative technology solutions around and services that support best practice data infrastructure to aid Visualisations.
- Ensure that solutions deployed (Site, Projects, Datasources, Security setup) meet stated objectives, industry standards, and deliver business value.
- Assist with the delivery of DEVOPS Product Life Cycle for the Looker/ Tableau application components. Work with the Development/Engineering Leads and Business Visualisation Leads to ensure
- Manage a small squad of Insights engineers and provide leadership and mentoring.

What you’ll do

- Tool Implementation: Build Tableau / Looker Explores Looks and Conversation Analytics models and enable Security based on requirements.
- Manage a small team of insights engineers to deliver outcomes to Business stakeholders.
- Apply Security hardening principles outlined by Tableau & Google and our Group IT security on Enterprise Tableau and Looker environments deployed.
- Responsible for new feature upgrade testing and liaising with suppliers on issues and manage to resolution.
- Work with the Data Architects to ensure data standards and dependencies are taken into account in designs of Visualisation.
- Participate in process improvement and system performance optimization initiatives.
- Capture detailed documentation for all deployments/implementations.
- Standardisation & Tooling: Build reusable visualisation frameworks
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Product Managers,



Solution Architects, and Analytics and Business teams to translate complex business needs into clear, scalable visualisation and Agentic results
- AI Solution Development: Demonstrated ability to harness artificial intelligence to resolve complex data challenges; prior experience architecting AI solutions is highly desirable.
- Responsible for end to end end testing and validation from Unit Test to UAT. Help in Coordination of UAT for Key deliverables

What you’ll bring

- 6+ years in data and Visualisation engineering with 4+ years of dedicated experience in Tableau / Looker.
- A strong track record in IT operations within large organisations.
- Experience in running a small insights team.
- Demonstrated experience in working with complex platforms with multiple stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Has a thorough understanding of the DEVOPS Product Life Cycle.
- Good understanding of IT processes, within a retail environment.
- Designs include the provision of technical alternatives.
- Keep well abreast of industry trends and directions to ensure solutions will provide business with forward compatible, scalable
- Data Architecture: Deep knowledge of modern data architecture patterns (Lakehouse, Data Mesh, Kappa/Lambda architectures, semantic modeling layers).
- Certifications (Preferred): Looker Engineer or Tableau Engineer
