Role description
Role Purpose The Content Enablement Lead ensures TresVista employees have access to the right learning content, at the right quality and cost within agreed timelines. This is an orchestration role, not an individual content creation role. The Lead has no team of creators and instead builds a scalable content ecosystem through vendors, freelancers, instructional design partners, interns, curated resources, and AI-enabled workflows.
For high-volume or complex work, the Lead may bring in freelance project managers to report to them for the project's duration.
Hands-on content creation is expected to be under 5% of the job, limited to rare, critical situations. The Lead must still have strong instructional design experience to brief, assess, challenge, and improve work created by others.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enable Content at Scale
● Own content requests end-to-end: intake, prioritization, development, QA, launch, and maintenance.
● Decide the best route - build, buy, curate, outsource, repurpose, or recreate using AI. There has to be a clear ROI logic behind each call.
● Maintain a content inventory, tracker, standards, and templates; keep content current and easy to find.
2. Build and Manage the Content Ecosystem
● Identify, onboard, and manage instructional designers, freelancers, design houses, and interns as a dependable external pool.
● Bring in project managers for high-complexity work, reporting directly to the Lead for that project.
● Set clear briefs, budgets, milestones, and acceptance criteria; manage delivery and rework.
3. Own Instructional Design and QA
● Set standards for outcomes, structure, writing, assessment, accessibility, and learner experience.
● Rigorously QA all partner-created content and give specific, actionable feedback.
● Step in personally only for critical fixes requiring expert intervention.
4. Lead AI-First Content Operations
● Use AI across research, drafting, storyboarding, repurposing, tagging, and reporting.
● Turn useful experiments into repeatable workflows for internal and external partners.
● Improve speed, consistency, and cost without compromising accuracy, confidentiality, or IP safeguards.
5. Partner with Stakeholders and Drive Execution
● Translate business needs into clear content solutions and production plans.
● Manage multiple assignments at once; communicate decisions, risks, and trade-offs clearly.
● Use data on usage, quality, cost, and turnaround to guide priorities.
Non-Negotiables
● Strong instructional design background with a portfolio of high-quality work.
● Exceptional writing, communication, and feedback skills.
● Solid project management skills. Should be an expert at directing work through external partners, not a direct team.
● Practical AI fluency and willingness to keep testing new tools and continually improving standards.
● High ownership and sound judgement on speed, cost, and quality trade-offs.
Experience and Education
● 8–12 years in instructional design, learning experience design, or digital learning.
● Proven experience directing production through external partners or distributed teams.
● Graduate degree required; relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.
● Working knowledge of authoring tools, LMS, and leading AI platforms — curiosity matters more than expertise in any one tool.
What Success Looks Like
● High-quality content is consistently available without the Lead building it personally.
● The right mix of partners and AI is used for each requirement, with clear ROI behind build-versus-buy calls.
● Content is delivered predictably, within agreed quality, cost, and turnaround.
● QA is rigorous, rework drops, and TresVista standards are visible everywhere.
● Stakeholders trust the function to own, decide, and deliver.
