About the Role

We are hiring a Backend Engineer who is strong in Golang to design, build and scale distributed, high-throughput backend systems. You will own services end to end. That covers design, implementation, deployment and production support. You will also work directly with product managers, business teams and other stakeholders to turn requirements into reliable systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain scalable Go microservices and RESTful APIs using clean architecture and Go best practices.
- Build event-driven systems using Kafka, including reliable event processing with patterns such as Outbox, retries and idempotency.
- Design and integrate webhooks, with delivery guarantees, retries and real-time status updates.
- Integrate with third-party payment gateways and partners (such as Razorpay or Cashfree-style gateways). This includes transaction flows, reconciliation, refunds and failure handling.
- Work in Go monorepos. Own shared libraries, build and dependency hygiene, and cross-service changes.
- Build cloud-agnostic, production-ready services. This includes containerization, CI/CD pipelines,



observability and environment isolation.
- Write concurrent, well-behaved Go code. Use goroutines, channels, context cancellation and propagation, and OS signal handling for graceful shutdown.
- Design efficient data models and optimize queries on relational and NoSQL stores. Use caching (for example Redis) to reduce load and latency.
- Own the quality of what you ship. Write unit and integration tests, do code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems using metrics, logs and dashboards. Drive root-cause analysis and post-incident fixes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders. Gather and clarify requirements, explain technical trade-offs in plain language, and give transparent updates on progress, risks and timelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience, with strong, hands-on Golang as the primary language.

Solid understanding of advanced Go mechanics:

- concurrency patterns (goroutines, channels, sync primitives, worker pools)
- context usage and cancellation OS signal handling and graceful shutdown error handling, interfaces and idiomatic design
- Proven experience building microservices and distributed systems, with attention to scalability, fault tolerance and resilience.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or a similar message broker, and with event-driven architectures.
- Experience designing and consuming webhooks and REST APIs.
- Experience with payment gateway or third-party financial integrations, including transaction lifecycle, refunds and reconciliation.
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL/MariaDB). This covers schema design, indexing and query optimization. Familiarity with NoSQL (such as MongoDB) is a plus.




- Experience with Redis or other caching strategies.
- Working knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines (for example GitHub Actions) and a major cloud platform (AWS or GCP).
- Experience with authentication and authorization patterns (JWT, OAuth, role-based access control).
- Familiarity with observability tooling such as Grafana, Kibana, New Relic and CloudWatch.
- Comfortable writing clean, correct, tested Go code. You should be able to solve coding problems efficiently in a live setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You can interact confidently with
- stakeholders, clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and manage expectations.

Good to Have

- Experience with Go monorepos and tooling such as Bazel.
- Experience with API gateways (such as KrakenD) and centralized configuration management.
- Exposure to the fintech, payments or e-commerce domain.
- Experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
- Experience with clean architecture or domain-driven design.
- Experience with high-volume, high-concurrency systems (1000+ concurrent users, high TPV).
- Prior experience mentoring engineers or leading small teams.

Soft Skills

- Strong ownership and accountability.
- Proactive communication with stakeholders and cross-functional teams, including product, business, QA and operations.
- Ability to break down ambiguous problems and drive them to closure.
