About the role
Wadhwani AI Global builds AI solutions for social impact globally. We're looking for a curious, organized intern with a development sector lens to support our communications, events and research work: shaping stories, turning research into insights, and keeping events running smoothly behind the scenes.
What you'll do
Communications and content
- Brainstorm content ideas and campaign angles for social media, newsletters, blogs and web
- Draft and edit posts, event copy, short write-ups, and speaker or partner briefs
- Shoot and edit video content, including reels, event highlights, interviews and behind-the-scenes clips
- Help with content calendars
Research and insights
- Research development sector trends, policy conversations, and the AI-for-impact landscape across India and Africa
- Turn research into clear insights that feed content ideas, talking points, event themes and speaker briefs
- Track relevant reports, conferences and global moments the team can engage with
Events
- Support planning and execution of events, including side events, panels and convenings
- Coordinate with internal teams, speakers, partners and vendors on logistics and timelines
- Prepare event materials: agendas, invite lists, run-of-show documents and briefing notes
- Provide on-ground support, plus post-event follow-ups, recaps and content
Who you are
- A student or recent graduate from a humanities or social sciences background (e.g., development studies, sociology, political science, economics, history, English, public policy)
- Knowledgeable about the development sector, through coursework, fieldwork, internships, or work with NGOs or think tanks
- Interested in research and positive at turning findings into sharp, usable insights
- A clear, confident writer in English
- Full of ideas, and comfortable sharing them in a brainstorm
- Detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Curious about how technology and AI can drive social impact
- Comfortable shooting and editing short-form video (phone or camera; tools like CapCut, Premiere Pro or similar)
- Bonus: familiarity with Canva, basic design tools, or social media analytics
What you'll get
- A paid internship with a monthly stipend of [₹X]
- Hands-on experience across communications, events and research at an AI-for-impact organization working in India and Africa
- Exposure to how AI solutions are built and deployed in public health, education and agriculture, and to the partners, governments and communities involved
- Opportunities to support global convenings and events, and to engage with leaders across the development and tech ecosystem
- Mentorship from the communications team, and ownership of research and content projects you can add to your portfolio
- A chance to see your research shape real outputs, from content and campaigns to event themes and talking points
- A certificate of completion and letter of recommendation
