Job Description – Asian Commis Chef

The Port Land | Willingdon Island, Kochi

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Asian Commis Chef to join our kitchen team at The Port Land. The ideal candidate should have a valuable understanding of Asian cuisine, a passion for food, and a willingness to learn, grow, and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities
Assist in preparing and cooking Asian dishes while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
Follow recipes, portion sizes, and plating standards.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and ready for service.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and workstations.
Follow food safety and kitchen hygiene standards.
Assist with stock handling, storage, and minimising food wastage.
Work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen team members.




Be willing to learn recent techniques, try new dishes, and take on additional responsibilities when required.

Requirements
Experience in Asian cuisine is preferred.
Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety.
Passion for cooking, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Good attitude, discipline, and the ability to work well in a team.
Must be humble, hardworking, punctual, and versatile.
Must be willing to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
