Key Responsibilities

- Analyze Tableau workbooks, data sources, extracts, calculated fields, Level of Detail (LOD) expressions, parameters, sets, groups, filters, worksheets, and dashboards.
- Map Tableau data sources, joins, relationships, and hierarchies to Power BI semantic models, including star schemas and data relationships.
- Convert Tableau calculated fields, table calculations, and LOD expressions into DAX, and migrate data sources and Tableau Prep flows to Power Query (M).
- Rebuild Tableau worksheets and dashboards as Power BI reports, including parameters, filters, actions, drill paths, tooltips, and formatting.
- Connect Power BI semantic models to Databricks (Unity Catalog) and optimize data model design.
- Migrate security configurations and Row-Level Security (RLS), and configure data refresh and connectivity.
- Validate migrated reports against Tableau through data reconciliation, KPI checks, unit testing, regression testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Deploy solutions to Power BI Service using workspaces, apps, and deployment pipelines, and support cutover and post-deployment activities.
- Use AI-based migration tools and agents for metadata extraction, DAX conversion, and automated validation, providing feedback to improve their effectiveness.
- Prepare technical documentation and knowledge-transfer materials, and collaborate with client Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

Required Skills and Experience





- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including data modelling, DAX, Power Query (M), report design, and Power BI Service.
- Practical experience with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud, including data sources, extracts, calculated fields, LOD expressions, parameters, actions, and dashboards.
- Advanced SQL skills and a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts.
- Experience migrating or rebuilding reports across BI platforms.
- Experience with Row-Level Security (RLS), security configurations, performance tuning, and data validation.

Positive-to-Have Skills

- Python scripting or exposure to Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Model (LLM) tools for automation.
- Experience with Tableau REST APIs, Metadata APIs, TWB/TWBX file parsing, or the Tableau Server repository.
- Microsoft PL-300 certification or Tableau certifications, such as Tableau Desktop Specialist or Tableau Certified Data Analyst.

- Strong expertise in BI reporting and dashboard development using Tableau and Power BI.
- Experience independently handling BI report migration and modernization projects.
- Robust analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
