Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer specializing in Backend Platform Development at Kentik, with 8 to 10 years of experience in the field. The ideal candidate will be proficient in designing and implementing scalable microservices architectures and will have a strong background in cloud-native technologies.

Develop and maintain backend services using Go as the primary programming language, with familiarity in Python. Design and implement microservices architecture, utilizing gRPC/REST APIs and event streaming technologies. Work with databases such as PostgreSQL and ClickHouse, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization. Utilize Kafka for event streaming and message brokering within the application ecosystem. Deploy and manage applications using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and scalability. Implement monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry to enhance system reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business needs. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and best practices.
