Job Summary
We are looking for a responsible and proactive Safety Officer to support the implementation of workplace safety practices, statutory compliance, risk assessment and accident prevention at our manufacturing facility. The candidate will be responsible for promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with applicable safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor workplace health and safety procedures across the manufacturing plant.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and potential hazards.
- Conduct risk assessments and support the implementation of appropriate control measures.
- Monitor compliance with applicable safety legislation, factory requirements and internal EHS procedures.
- Coordinate toolbox talks, safety training, awareness programmes and employee safety campaigns.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identify root causes and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure adherence to safety rules.
- Support fire safety arrangements, emergency preparedness, evacuation drills and mock drills.
- Monitor safe work practices for hot work, work at height, electrical work, confined space entry and contractor activities, wherever applicable.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Production and other departments to resolve safety observations and improve workplace safety.
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, training records, incident reports and EHS documentation.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of safety-related non-conformities.
- Promote 5S, hazard reporting, near-miss reporting and continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Support environmental management activities, including waste management, spill prevention and pollution control.
Educational Qualification
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Industrial Safety, with a recognized qualification in Industrial Safety as applicable to the role.
- Candidates must meet the applicable statutory qualification requirements for appointment as a Safety Officer.
Experience
- Relevant experience in EHS / Industrial Safety in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience in automotive or auto-component manufacturing will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices and hazard identification.
- Understanding of risk assessment, incident investigation and corrective action.
- Knowledge of fire safety and emergency response procedures.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Good communication, coordination and report-writing skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and safety documentation.
- Ability to interact effectively with shop-floor employees, supervisors and management.

- Proactive, disciplined and observant.
- Strong commitment to accident prevention and employee safety.
- Willingness to work closely with Production, Maintenance and other departments.
- Candidates available to join immediately or at short notice will be preferred.
