Build, Improve and Maintain Web Applications

We’re looking for a Web Developer who can turn project requirements into functional, reliable and user-friendly websites. You’ll work on website development, interface improvements, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance, helping ensure that the finished product works well across different devices and browsers.

This position is suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, writing well-structured code and improving websites through practical development work.

What You’ll Work On

- Develop and maintain websites using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Build responsive pages that work across desktop computers, tablets and mobile devices.
- Implement website layouts and features based on project requirements and design specifications.
- Write clean, organised and maintainable code.
- Integrate APIs and third-party services where required.
- Work with databases and server-side functionality when the project requires it.
- Test website features, investigate errors and resolve bugs.
- Improve website speed, usability, accessibility and cross-browser compatibility.
- Maintain existing websites and introduce updates without disrupting existing functionality.
- Use version control tools such as Git to manage code changes.
- Work with designers, content teams and other developers to deliver completed projects.
- Follow appropriate security practices when handling website functionality, databases and user information.
- Document technical changes and communicate progress, issues and delivery requirements.

The Skills That Matter

We’re interested in candidates who understand the fundamentals of web development and can apply them to real projects.

Core technical skills

- HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
- Responsive web design and cross-browser testing.
- Website debugging,



testing and performance optimisation.
- Basic understanding of web hosting, domains, SSL and deployment processes.
- Familiarity with Git or another version control system.

Additional technical experience

- Experience with a framework or library such as React, Angular or Vue.js.
- Familiarity with backend technologies such as PHP, Node.js or Python.
- Understanding of databases, REST APIs and website integrations.
- Experience with WordPress or another content management system, where relevant to the projects.

You do not need to have worked with every technology listed. The most relevant skills will depend on the projects assigned to the successful candidate.

Good development involves more than getting a page to load. You should be comfortable checking your code, investigating unexpected behaviour and considering how changes affect the overall website.

We value developers who ask sensible questions when requirements are unclear, manage their tasks responsibly and communicate technical issues before they become larger problems. The ability to work independently while collaborating with others is key.
