Designation: - R&D; Engineer – Hardware & Sensor Testing

Location: - Ahmedabad (Work from Office)

Experience: 0-2Years

Education: - Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering or Electronics & Communication (EC) or Similar

Employment Type: - Full-Time

About the Role: Our client is looking for a R&D; Engineer to support the development, testing, and validation of hardware and sensor-based Proof-of-Concept (POC) devices. The role is hands-on and involves working with sensors, electronics, basic hardware assembly, testing, data validation, and coordination with internal teams such as Procurement, Production, R&D;, and Project teams.

Key Responsibilities:● Support development and testing of hardware and sensor-based POC devices.
● Test and validate newly received sensors before integration.
● Understand basic sensor datasheets, wiring, specifications, and communication interfaces.
● Perform basic soldering, wiring, connector assembly, and hardware modifications.
● Perform basic electrical checks using a multimeter.
● Support sensor integration with development boards and devices.
● Work with basic communication protocols such as UART, RS485, Modbus, I2C, SDI-12, etc.
● Perform basic coding/programming for sensor testing and data collection.
● Collect, monitor, and validate sensor data.




● Check sensor readings for abnormal values, missing data, communication issues, and data consistency.
● Compare sensor data with reference instruments during testing.
● Support laboratory and field testing of POC devices.
● Coordinate with Procurement for required sensors, components, cables, connectors, and other materials.
● Coordinate with Production for hardware assembly and required modifications.
● Coordinate with Project/R&D; teams for testing requirements and technical support.
● Maintain test data, checklists, observations, and basic technical documentation.
● Troubleshoot basic hardware, sensor, and communication issues.

Required Skills
● Basic knowledge of electronics, sensors, and electrical components.
● Basic soldering and wiring skills.
● Knowledge of using a multimeter.
● Basic understanding of communication protocols such as UART/RS485/Modbus is an advantage.
● Basic programming knowledge in C, Python, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar platforms is an advantage.
● Basic knowledge of Excel and data handling.
● Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
● Hands-on approach and willingness to learn new technologies.
