We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Gold Appraiser to join our Chennai team.
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate and appraise old gold jewellery brought in by customers.
- Perform gold purity testing using appropriate testing equipment.
- Accurately weigh gold jewellery and assess its purity and value.
- Calculate gold valuation based on purity, weight, and applicable market rates.
- Explain the appraisal process and valuation clearly to customers.
- Assist with customer transactions and coordinate payment processing.
- Maintain accurate records of gold purchases, valuations, and customer transactions.
- Follow company procedures for gold handling, verification, documentation, and security.
- Build customer trust through professional and transparent service.
Requirements
- Previous experience in gold appraisal, gold buying, jewellery, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of gold purity, karatage, weighing, and valuation is an advantage.
- Familiarity with gold testing machines and appraisal procedures is desirable.
- Positive communication and customer-handling skills.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain transaction records.
- Honest, reliable, attentive to detail, and comfortable handling valuable items.
- Ability to work full-time at our Chennai branch.
Freshers with relevant jewellery knowledge and a willingness to learn may also apply.
