Job Description (JD) – Pre-Primary Teacher

Job Title: Pre-Primary Teacher (Playgroup / Nursery / LKG / UKG)

Job Summary:
A Pre-Primary Teacher is responsible for teaching and nurturing young children, typically aged 2–6 years, through play-based learning and engaging classroom activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach basic concepts such as alphabets, numbers, shapes, colours, and rhymes.
- Plan and conduct fun, age-appropriate learning activities.
- Develop children's communication, social, emotional, and motor skills.
- Maintain a protected, clean, and child-friendly classroom.
- Monitor children's learning progress and behaviour.
- Communicate regularly with parents about children's development.
- Encourage creativity, discipline, independence, and teamwork.
- Organise storytelling, art and craft, music, dance, and outdoor activities.

Qualifications

- Aa bachelor's degree,



depending on school requirements.
- NTT, Montessori, ECCE, or equivalent teacher-training qualification is preferred or required by some schools.
- Good communication skills and a caring attitude towards children.
- Patience, creativity, and classroom-management skills.

Experience

- Freshers may apply if the school accepts entry-level candidates.
- Previous experience in nursery or kindergarten teaching is an advantage.
