Job Description – Piping Design Engineer (MEP)

Designation: Piping Design Engineer
Department: MEP / Mechanical
Experience: 3–7 Years
Location: Greater Noida
Qualification: Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Hands-on piping design and working experience is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare piping layouts, piping routing drawings, and detailed shop drawings for MEP projects.
- Design and coordinate chilled water piping, condenser water piping, domestic water supply, drainage, stormwater, and fire-fighting piping systems, as applicable to the project.
- Perform pipe sizing, hydraulic calculations, pressure drop calculations, and equipment connection planning.
- Prepare isometric drawings, sections, riser diagrams, schematic drawings, and piping details.
- Select pipe materials, valves, fittings, supports, and accessories as per project specifications.
- Coordinate piping routes with HVAC, electrical, fire-fighting, plumbing, and structural teams.

Mandatory Skills





- Practical working experience in MEP piping design and routing.
- Strong knowledge of pipe sizing, fittings, valves, supports, and installation practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP and Navisworks will be an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs;, layouts, and specifications.
- Ability to prepare BOQ, material take-offs, and shop drawings.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, malls, high-rise buildings, or industrial MEP projects.
- Knowledge of chilled water piping, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting piping systems.
