Quality Controller – Roles and Responsibilities

The Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring that fabric, trims, cutting, printing, embroidery, sewing, washing, finishing, and packing processes meet buyer specifications and quality standards before shipment.

1. Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesA. Fabric Quality Control

- Inspect incoming fabric rolls for GSM, width, shade variation, hand feel, shrinkage, and defects.
- Verify fabric inspection reports and the four-point inspection system, where applicable.
- Check for holes, stains, slubs, barre marks, bowing, skewing, and knitting or weaving defects.
- Verify roll-to-roll shade consistency and fabric lot details.
- Ensure fabric is compacted and approved before cutting, as required.
- Identify defective rolls, segregate them, and coordinate corrective action with the fabric team and supplier.

B. Trims and Accessories Inspection

- Inspect labels, buttons, zippers, drawcords, elastics, threads, and other accessories.
- Verify colour, size, quality, artwork, and buyer specifications.
- Check certificates and test reports where required.
- Ensure approved trims are used for bulk production.

C. Cutting Quality Control

- Verify fabric relaxation, spreading, marker placement, and cutting accuracy.
- Check panels for measurements, shade variation, defects, and matching requirements.
- Ensure correct size, quantity, and bundle identification.
- Prevent mixed shades,



sizes, and fabric lots from entering sewing.

D. Printing, Embroidery and Washing Quality

- Check artwork, placement, colour, dimensions, and appearance against approved samples.
- Inspect printing adhesion, cracking, peeling, and wash durability where applicable.
- Verify embroidery placement, stitch quality, thread colour, and fabric damage.
- Check garment wash effects, shade consistency, shrinkage, and hand feel.

E. Sewing Quality Control

- Conduct inline inspections during production.
- Check measurements, stitching, SPI, seam strength, skipped stitches, open seams, puckering, and needle damage.
- Ensure production follows the approved sample and technical specifications.
- Identify recurring defects and implement corrective actions with production supervisors.

F. Finishing and Final Inspection

- Check garment measurements against the approved measurement chart.
- Inspect workmanship, stains, holes, shade variation, print, embroidery, and overall appearance.
- Verify pressing, folding, tagging, labelling, and packing requirements.
- Conduct pre-final and final inspections according to buyer requirements and the applicable AQL standard.
- Ensure defective garments are repaired, rechecked, and approved before packing or shipment

Job Type: Full time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu
