Role Description

The Sr. Engineer / Tech Lead (Systems Integration) will be responsible for designing, integrating and commissioning Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test systems based on customer requirements. The role involves translating test requirements into system specifications, defining hardware and software interfaces, selecting real-time targets and I/O modules, and integrating sensors, actuators, communication networks and signal-conditioning hardware. The candidate will troubleshoot electrical, communication and real-time execution issues, validate end-to-end system functionality, and prepare technical documentation. The role also includes conducting technical discussions, demonstrations, training and acceptance testing to ensure the delivered system meets the agreed specifications.

Desired Experience

- Working knowledge on Peripheral interfaces like CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, SPI, UART, FlexRay, RS232, I2C, Etc.
- Analog/digital I/O, PWM, encoder interfaces, signal conditioning, fault insertion - wiring harness design, pinout verification, connector selection, electrical troubleshooting.




- Expertise in interfacing sensors, encoders/resolvers, Motors, Drives, Power supplies, electronic loads, etc.
- Should be able to debug boards using logic analyzer, Oscilloscope, and other test equipment’s.
- Control theory, plant modelling, closed-loop simulation, sensor and actuator modelling is desired
- Experience on MATLAB / Simulink will be an added advantage

Key Responsibilities:

Beyond technical knowledge, a HIL systems integration engineer should be capable of:

- Requirements analysis: Understanding customer test requirements and translating them into HIL system specifications.
- System architecture: Defining hardware, software, I/O and communication interfaces.
- Hardware configuration: Selecting appropriate real-time targets, I/O modules, signal conditioning and interface hardware.
- Integration and commissioning: Configuring the system, integrating components and validating end-to-end functionality.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnosing hardware, software, communication and real-time execution issues.
- Documentation: Preparing system architecture diagrams, wiring diagrams, interface documents and test reports.
- Customer interaction: Conducting technical discussions, demonstrations, training and customer acceptance testing.
