Job Purpose

The Restaurant Host/Hostess serves as the primary point of contact for guests entering the establishment. This role is responsible for delivering a warm, professional, and welcoming first impression, managing the seating flow, handling reservations, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Greeting & Seating

- Warmly greet arriving guests, acknowledge returning patrons, and provide a welcoming ambiance.
- Seat guests efficiently and present menus, introducing their server where applicable.
- Manage seating charts to ensure equitable table distribution across server sections while optimizing floor capacity.
- Escort guests to their tables, taking note of special seating preferences or accessibility needs.

Reservation & Waitlist Management

- Monitor and manage daily reservations, walk-ins, and floor availability using restaurant management software or reservation logs.
- Accurately estimate wait times for walk-in guests and manage waiting areas attentively.
- Answer incoming telephone calls professionally to take reservations, respond to inquiries, and handle special requests (e.g., dietary needs, anniversaries, birthdays).

Communication & Coordination

- Communicate guest arrivals, floor status, and special requests promptly to server staff, bus personnel, and kitchen management.
- Notify management immediately of any guest complaints,



service delays, or special dietary concerns.
- Bid a warm farewell to departing guests, thanking them for their visit and inviting them to return.

Front-of-House Maintenance & Support

- Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable host station, entrance hall, and waiting area at all times.
- Inspect menus for cleanliness, damage, or updates, replacing them as needed.
- Assist dining room staff during peak volume hours with light table setup, resetting, or menu distribution as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in hospitality, customer service, or restaurant front-of-house roles is preferred.
- Skills:
- Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking capabilities in a high-volume environment.
- Professional, warm, and approachable demeanor with high personal grooming standards.
- Familiarity with POS/reservation management software (e.g., OpenTable, SevenRooms, Resy) is a plus.
- Physical & Schedule Availability:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shift hours.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
