About the Role

Green Attic is hiring an Accounting Specialist with robust accounting fundamentals and practical AI/software knowledge.

This is not a data-entry bookkeeping role. We need someone who can review financial activity, complete reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and take ownership of accounting issues through resolution.

AI knowledge is highly preferred. The ideal candidate can use AI and software to improve transaction review, reconciliation, reporting, and repetitive accounting work while still applying sound accounting judgment.

Responsibilities

- Review, categorize, and reconcile financial transactions.
- Investigate missing, duplicated, unusual, or incorrectly recorded expenses.
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records, supporting documents, and accounting controls.
- Monitor transactions and flag unusual activity.
- Support accounting across multiple companies or entities when needed.
- Use AI and software tools to improve reconciliation, reporting, transaction review, and efficiency.

Requirements

- Hands-on accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations experience.
- Strong knowledge of reconciliations, transaction review, and discrepancy investigation.
- Ability to identify and resolve errors independently.




- Strong Excel/Google Sheets and accounting software skills.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Comfortable learning new software and working with AI tools.

Preferred

- Experience handling accounting for multiple companies, entities, or client accounts.
- Experience with high-volume transactions or multiple reconciliation deadlines.
- Practical use of AI for accounting, spreadsheets, reporting, analysis, or process improvement.

You do not need to be a software developer, but you should understand how to use technology to make accounting work more accurate and efficient. AI-generated results must still be reviewed and validated.

Shortlisted candidates may complete a practical interview focused on reconciliation, discrepancy investigation, accounting judgment, and AI/software use.
