Vedanayagam Hospital is a 44-year-old healthcare institution in Coimbatore, specializing in advanced urological care. The hospital has approximately 45 beds, with expertise in urolithiasis, BPH surgery, and reconstructive urological procedures.

Following a comprehensive refurbishment, the hospital is focused on expanding its clinical services and developing a multi-unit healthcare network across the Kongu region.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Medical Director to lead clinical governance, hospital operations, medical talent acquisition, quality management, and strategic development.

The candidate will work closely with Management to establish operational strategies, implement clinical SOPs, improve patient satisfaction, strengthen medical teams, and support the hospital's long-term expansion plans.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement clinical and operational strategies in alignment with Management objectives.
- Establish and monitor clinical SOPs, quality standards, patient safety practices, and accreditation requirements.
- Lead recruitment, selection, retention, and remuneration planning for consultants, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals.
- Oversee operation theatre management, utilization, scheduling, surgical team coordination, and clinical performance.




- Assess surgical quality and clinical outcomes at the individual consultant and specialty levels.
- Supervise pharmacy operations, medication safety, inventory management, and regulatory compliance in coordination with the relevant teams.
- Monitor diagnostic imaging services and coordinate with laboratory, radiology, nursing, and other clinical departments.
- Improve operational efficiency, resource utilization, patient experience, and grievance resolution.
- Establish performance indicators and conduct periodic reviews of clinical and operational performance.
- Support hospital expansion, potential acquisition integration, and the development of additional units across the Kongu region.
- Build robust professional relationships with medical associations, senior consultants, and healthcare institutions.

Qualifications and Experience

- MBBS with a recognized postgraduate medical qualification.
- Minimum 10 years of clinical practice experience, followed by substantial experience in hospital administration or medical leadership.
- Strong experience in medical recruitment, consultant sourcing, and competitive remuneration structuring.
- Practical knowledge of operation theatre management, anesthesia services, pharmacy operations, and diagnostic imaging.




- Proven ability to evaluate surgical outcomes, clinical quality, and medical team performance.
- Experience in hospital quality management, NABH accreditation, clinical governance, and operational strategy.
- Exposure to hospital expansion, multi-unit operations, or healthcare business development will be an advantage.

Compensation

₹4,00,000 – ₹5,00,000 per month (CTC), plus additional perks, depending on qualifications and experience.
