Kaavique Animation Studio is a growing 3D animation production house focused on creating engaging animated content through creativity, technical expertise, and collaborative storytelling.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled 3D Layout Artist to translate storyboards and animatics into well-composed 3D scenes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cinematic composition, camera placement, staging, and shot continuity to support the animation production pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

- Translate storyboards and animatics into accurate 3D layouts.
- Set up cameras, framing, composition, and staging according to storyboard requirements.
- Block character positions, props, and environmental elements to establish transparent visual storytelling.
- Ensure correct camera angles, shot sizes, movement, and continuity across sequences.
- Work closely with animation, modeling, rigging, lighting, and production teams to meet project requirements.
- Maintain scene organization, naming conventions, and file structures according to studio standards.
- Review feedback from supervisors and implement revisions within deadlines.
- Identify potential camera, staging, and scene-related issues before shots move to the animation stage.
- Ensure all layouts meet production quality standards and are ready for downstream departments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Proven experience as a 3D Layout Artist in animation or a related production environment.
- Strong understanding of cinematic language,



camera composition, perspective, staging, and continuity.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Maya.
- Good understanding of 3D animation production pipelines and shot-based workflows.
- Ability to interpret storyboards, animatics, and camera references accurately.
- Familiarity with character blocking, scene assembly, and basic animation blocking.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple shots while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Skills

- Experience working on 3D animated films, series, or episodic projects.
- Knowledge of camera animation, sequencing, and cinematic storytelling.
- Familiarity with scene optimization and production pipeline requirements.
- Experience working with shot management and version-control workflows.

Experience Requirements

- Mid-Level: Strong foundational layout skills and the ability to execute shots independently with minimal supervision.
- Senior-Level: Advanced camera and staging expertise, strong cinematic judgment, and the ability to handle complex sequences while supporting junior artists and maintaining consistency across shots.
