JOB DESCRIPTION: TEKLA STEEL MODELER – AISC STANDARDS

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Tekla Steel Modeler with strong hands-on experience in 3D structural steel modeling and a positive understanding of AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) standards. The candidate will be responsible for developing accurate 3D steel models, preparing fabrication and erection drawings, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and US structural steel detailing practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop accurate 3D structural steel models using Tekla Structures.
- Read and interpret structural drawings, architectural drawings, design drawings, and project specifications.
- Model primary and secondary steel members, including beams, columns, bracing, plates, and connections.
- Handle miscellaneous steel modeling, including stairs, ladders, handrails, platforms, and grating.
- Apply AISC standards and project-specific detailing requirements during modeling and detailing.
- Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, erection drawings, assembly drawings, and shop/fabrication drawings.
- Ensure proper detailing of bolts, welds, connections, and structural steel components.
- Identify missing information, drawing discrepancies, and modeling conflicts, and raise RFIs (Requests for Information) when required.
- Coordinate with Steel Detailers, Checkers, Engineers, and Project Managers to resolve technical issues.




- Perform self-checks to ensure model accuracy, constructability, and drawing quality.
- Incorporate design revisions, client comments, and checker feedback into models and drawings.
- Generate material lists, bolt lists, and other project reports as required.
- Complete assigned tasks within project deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in structural steel modeling using Tekla Structures.
- Strong hands-on experience in Tekla Structures for steel structures.
- Valuable knowledge of AISC standards and US steel detailing practices.
- Understanding of structural steel members, connections, bolts, welds, fabrication, and erection processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and structural drawings.
- Experience preparing GA, shop, assembly, and erection drawings.
- Knowledge of Tekla components, connections, numbering, drawing settings, and model management.
- Good problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver accurate outputs within project timelines.

Preferred Experience

- Experience working on US-based structural steel projects.
- Knowledge of AWS welding standards and relevant project specifications.
- Experience with industrial, commercial, and multi-storey steel structures.
- Familiarity with CNC/NC files, material take-offs, and fabrication reports.
- Immediate joiners are preferred.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
