About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management (D365 SCM) Advanced Warehouse Management (WMS) Consultant to lead warehouse design, configuration, implementation, and deployment activities for a UK-based dairy and chilled food manufacturer/distributor.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in D365 Advanced Warehouse Management, with experience managing end-to-end implementations, optimizing warehouse operations, and supporting go-live and post-implementation activities.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Design & Configuration

- Lead the end-to-end Advanced Warehouse Management workstream in D365 SCM.

- Configure wave templates, wave processing, work templates, work classes, location directives, work pools, and work exceptions.

- Configure warehouse mobile device menus, menu items, field priorities, and operational workflows.

- Set up load templates, load-building strategies, shipment workflows, and outbound sorting and consolidation processes.

End-to-End Warehouse Operations

- Manage inbound processes, including Advance Shipping Notices (ASN), receiving, quality holds, put-away, and cross-docking.

- Configure outbound processes covering cluster, batch and wave picking, packing, staging, dispatch, and shipment confirmation.

- Implement replenishment strategies, including min/max, demand-based, and wave-based replenishment.

- Configure cycle counting, inventory adjustments,



quality orders, and non-conformance handling.

Dairy & Chilled Food Industry Requirements

- Implement batch and lot traceability to support forward/backward tracking, mock recalls, and food safety audits.

- Configure temperature-controlled warehouse zones for chilled, ambient, and frozen products.

- Implement FEFO (First Expired, First Out) strategies and customer-specific minimum shelf-life requirements.

- Support tracking of returnable assets, including crates, dollies, roll cages, and pallets.

- Configure allergen management and product segregation controls across storage and picking processes.

- Support route-based dispatch, multi-drop deliveries, retailer-specific labelling, GS1-128/SSCC labels, and EDI-driven dispatch.

Implementation & Technical Coordination

- Lead solution design, configuration, testing, cutover, go-live, and hypercare activities.

- Coordinate with functional, technical, and business teams to deliver warehouse solutions.

- Support data migration using Data Management Framework (DMF) and relevant data entities.

- Troubleshoot wave processing, warehouse work execution, and performance-related issues.

- Configure and validate warehouse mobile device workflows and integrations with RF scanners, label printers, weighing scales,



and other warehouse hardware.

- Prepare functional documentation and provide end-user training.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 6-12 years of experience in ERP/SCM consulting, with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management - Advanced Warehouse Management.

- At least 3 full-cycle D365 SCM WMS implementations, covering design, configuration, testing, cutover, and hypercare.

- Strong expertise in warehouse configuration, mobile device flows, wave processing, work templates, and location directives.

- Practical experience with inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory counting, and quality management processes.

- Knowledge of batch traceability, FEFO, shelf-life management, and temperature-controlled warehouse operations.

- Experience with warehouse mobile hardware, barcode scanning, label printing, and related integrations.

- Understanding of DMF, data entities, configuration migration, and troubleshooting.

- Robust client-facing communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Good to Have

- Experience in dairy, FMCG, food and beverage, or third-party logistics (3PL).

- Exposure to catch-weight management and process manufacturing.

- Working knowledge of Inventory Management, Master Planning, Production Control, and Transportation Management.

- Experience with Power BI or Power Apps for warehouse reporting and dashboards.

- Microsoft certifications such as MB-330 or MB-335.
