About BathStory BathStory is a new-age, design-led bathroom brand on a mission to rethink how Indian bathrooms products look, feel, and function. We believe bathrooms are personal spaces, and deserve as much attention as any other space in our homes. Yet, for too long, they've been treated as purely functional spaces. We're here to change that. But we're not just interested in making better bathroom fittings and products. We're interested in changing how people think about bathrooms altogether. And that's where you come in.

About the Role
We're looking for a writer who can make even the most ordinary things interesting. Someone who believes good content isn't just about getting people to click, but giving them something worth reading. On one hand, you'll create genuinely useful, well-researched content that helps people navigate everything from choosing the right shower partition to understanding bathroom design, materials, and functionality. On the other, you'll explore the bathroom as something far more interesting than a functional space. Think design, culture, architecture, history, everyday rituals, and the curious relationship people have with their most private spaces. We're looking for someone with a strong editorial instinct, a curious mind, and a genuine love for writing. What you'll work on 1
- Build BathStory's Content Hub
• Conceptualise, develop, and grow BathStory's new website content hub into a trusted destination for bathroom-related information, inspiration, and ideas.
• Research, write, and edit useful, engaging, and well-structured articles on bathroom design, product selection, renovation, materials, maintenance, and emerging trends.
• Understand the questions and challenges customers face throughout their journey of building and doing up their home (including the bathroom) and translate them into valuable content.
• Create buying guides, explainers, comparisons, how-to articles, and other educational content that helps people make informed decisions.
• Apply SEO best practices, including keyword research, search intent, content structure, and internal linking, without compromising writing quality.
• Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to ensure content is accurate, relevant, discoverable, and aligned with business priorities.
• Regularly revisit and improve existing content to keep it useful, relevant, and up to date. 2
- Help build BathStory's editorial voice
• Help conceptualise and develop editorial-first properties that explores bathrooms beyond products and purchases.
• Research, pitch,

and write original stories at the intersection of design, culture, architecture, history, lifestyle, and human behaviour.
• Explore interesting formats such as features, essays, interviews, opinion pieces, visual stories, and newsletters.
• Identify interesting people, ideas, cultural conversations, and emerging trends that could inspire original stories.
• Experiment with digital publishing formats and platforms, including newsletters and Substack. 3
- Content Support
• Support the marketing & sales teams with creative copy for campaigns, product launches, website pages, emails, social media, and other brand communication.
• Translate product features and technical information into clear, compelling, consumer-friendly storytelling.
• Collaborate with product designers, marketers, and other team members to develop creative ideas and content-led campaigns.
• Help maintain a consistent, distinctive, and recognisable BathStory voice across touchpoints. 4
- Content Research, Strategy & Distribution
• Conduct research using credible sources, expert interviews (we have a community of architects & interior designers you can work with), customer insights, and industry references to develop well-informed stories.
• Help build and manage an editorial calendar that balances search-driven content, evergreen resources, and original storytelling.
• Understand the fundamentals of content discoverability across search engines, AI-powered search experiences, newsletters, and other digital platforms.
• Work with the team to identify opportunities for distributing and repurposing stories across relevant channels.
• Track content performance and use insights to improve topics, formats, engagement, and discoverability. What we're looking for
• 1–3 years of experience in editorial writing, features writing, content writing, journalism, or a related field.
• A background in magazines, digital publications, editorial platforms, independent newsletters, or long-form content is preferred.
• A degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English Literature, Media Studies, or a related discipline is preferred, but strong writing ability matters more.

• Experience writing for online publications, websites, blogs, or newsletters. Could also just be your own Instagram page / Substack / Blog (preferred if you have one)
• A solid writing portfolio
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
• Strong research abilities and an instinct for finding interesting angles in everyday subjects.
• An understanding of editorial writing, narrative structure, and digital content formats.
• Working knowledge of SEO, keyword research, search intent, and content optimisation.
• Ability to adapt writing styles across informative, editorial, and brand-led content.
• Strong attention to detail, fact-checking, and editorial accuracy. Beyond the skills, you might be a great fit if...
• You enjoy going down research rabbit holes and finding stories where others might not see one.
• You can make a technical subject accessible without making it boring.
• You have an editorial instinct. You know the difference between a topic and a genuinely interesting story.
• You have good taste, and you appreciate good journalism, thoughtful essays, independent publications, and well-crafted newsletters.
• You understand that SEO is important, but believe good writing should never exist solely to please an algorithm.
• You have opinions, ideas, and a point of view, but know how to support them with research.
• You enjoy experimenting with formats, storytelling, and the possibilities of digital publishing.
• You care about the details, whether it's finding the perfect opening sentence or getting a fact exactly right. Why Join BathStory? We're building a brand in a category that hasn't traditionally been known for interesting storytelling. And we think that's precisely what makes it exciting. You'll have the opportunity to:
• Build something from scratch: Help shape BathStory's content hub and editorial identity, rather than simply contribute to an existing content calendar.
• Write beyond the conventional: Explore stories across design, culture, architecture, lifestyle, and the everyday.
• Balance creativity with impact: Create content that is genuinely useful to customers while building a distinctive brand voice.
• Experiment with formats: Work across long-form articles, editorial features, newsletters, campaigns, and emerging digital formats.
• Have creative ownership: Pitch ideas, explore unconventional angles, and work closely with the founding and marketing teams to bring them to life.
