Role Overview As the AVP/VP of Business Development, you will lead the growth engine for our credit rating products across Chennai and Tamil Nadu. This is a high-visibility, high-impact revenue ownership role. You will combine an aggressive "hunter" sales mindset with deep financial acumen to originate current business, leverage existing C-suite relationships and convert corporate debt requirements into credit rating mandates. Key Responsibilities
1. Business Origination & Revenue Ownership ● Drive Full-Cycle Sales: End-to-end execution of sales cycles for Bank Loan Ratings, Bond/IPO ratings, SME ratings, and Structured Finance mandates. ● Exceed Regional Targets: Own and deliver the revenue roadmap specifically tailored to the Chennai and Tamil Nadu corporate landscape. ● Originate & Convert:



Actively target and convert "unrated" mid-to-large corporate houses, NBFCs, and financial institutions into new revenue streams. ● Commercial Negotiation: Command fee structures and commercial terms independently, balancing market competitiveness with company profitability guidelines. 2. C-Suite Network & Relationship Management ● Leverage Existing Rolodex: Immediately tap into established, active relationships with CFOs, Promoters, and Treasurers in the region to secure mandates. ● Intermediary Ecosystem: Build a robust referral pipeline by nurturing relationships with local investment bankers, financial consultants, and advisors. ● Brand Ambassadorship: Represent the organization at premier industry forums, debt capital market seminars, and high-level client meets to boost brand visibility. 3. Market Intelligence & Strategic Synergy ● Capital Market Mapping: Maintain a pulse on debt capital market movements, macro trends, and competitive intelligence to capture early-stage opportunities. ● Cross-Functional Feedback: Translate market demands and client needs into actionable insights for analytical and product development teams. Candidate Profile Experience & Qualifications ●

Education:
MBA (Finance), CA, or an equivalent financial qualification from a premier institute. ● Tenure: 5 to 12 years of core corporate sales or business development experience. ● Industry Domain: A proven track record within a Credit Rating Agency (CRA) or the ratings/credit side of banking is strongly preferred. Core Competencies & Skills ● Chennai/Tamil Nadu Network: A plug-and-play, long-standing relationship network with senior decision-makers (CFOs/Promoters) among regional corporates, readily deployable Rolodex of corporate clients, promoters,



or relevant industry stakeholders in Chennai and Tamil Nadu. ● Cultural & Corporate Nuance: Adept at navigating the diverse business cultures of Tamil Nadu—ranging from structured MNCs and auto/engineering manufacturers in the Chennai belt to long-established, relationship-driven family business houses and promoter-led SMEs in Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Madurai and Hosur. ● Financial & Regulatory Acumen: Deep understanding of corporate credit metrics, debt instruments, and SEBI CRA Regulations. ● The "Hunter" DNA: Chennai and Tamil Nadu is a highly competitive, relationship-driven market and home to a large concentration of NBFCs, manufacturing companies and family-owned business groups.
