Role Description The SCRAP & METAL RECYCLING role at APAX INTERNATIONAL is a full-time, in office position based in the Kolkata metropolitan area. The role involves overseeing the collection, sorting, and classification of scrap and metal materials, ensuring proper segregation according to type, quality, and regulatory standards. Daily tasks include monitoring inventory, coordinating with suppliers and buyers, maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials, and supporting documentation for sales and exports. The position also requires adherence to safety protocols, regular inspection of storage areas, and collaboration with logistics teams to schedule transport, loading,



and delivery. The team member will contribute to optimizing recycling processes, reducing waste, and supporting compliance with environmental and industry regulations. Qualifications
• Experience in scrap and metal recycling, material handling, or related industrial operations, with an understanding of different metal grades and categories.
• Knowledge of inventory management, documentation, and basic record-keeping for incoming and outgoing materials.
• Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental standards relevant to recycling yards, warehouses, or industrial sites.
• Ability to work on-site in a physically active environment, including lifting, sorting, and inspecting materials as needed.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and integrity in handling goods and maintaining accurate data.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with suppliers, transport providers, and internal staff.
• Basic computer skills for using spreadsheets or inventory software; prior experience in export or trading businesses is an advantage.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in recycling, logistics, or warehousing is beneficial.
