You’ll be on calls with Irish and European engineers daily, raising technical queries and making design decisions in conversation with them. We need someone who has already worked in an English-speaking environment. This is an electrical design and schematics role. It is not a PLC programming role. The role We’re hiring an Industrial Automation and Electrical Controls Engineer to produce the electrical design for automated machinery and special purpose machines, working directly with our client’s electrical lead in Ireland. You’ll be given their templates, numbering systems and BOMs. What we need from you is the ability to take a project and design it properly — sizing, safety architecture, best wiring practice — and work autonomously, making informed decisions rather than waiting to be told. What you’ll own
• Working from BOM lists to import and generate component symbols in EPLAN
• Complete electrical schematic sets to the client’s wiring and numbering standards
• 2D panel layouts of electrical enclosures
• Current capacity sizing and cable sizing to load
• 24V DC distribution
• Safety circuit design to IEC/EN 60204-1
• Motor control, VSDs, servo motors and controllers
• PLC wiring and I/O schemes — Siemens,



Allen Bradley, Beckhoff
• Integration of automated machinery, conveyor systems and robots
• Pneumatic circuits
• Device tagging structures, structured pages, macro creation and management, forms, reports, cable reports and revision management What we need
• Solid, current, hands-on EPLAN Electric P8 — device tagging structures, structured pages, macro creation and management, forms and reports, PLC I/O schemes, cable reports, revision management, EPLAN Data Portal
• 8+ years in electrical design for automated machinery, special purpose machines or industrial control systems
• Real design capability, not drafting — you size cables, you design safety circuits, you make the call on wiring practice
• PLC wiring experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley or Beckhoff
• Excellent spoken and written English, with proven experience working in an English-speaking environment
• Genuinely self-directed
