Role: Head of Technology

About the Role
We are establishing a Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad to support and strengthen one of our client's global technology and business operations. The Head of Technology will be the founding technical leader of the GCC, responsible for building and managing the technology team, establishing engineering practices and infrastructure, and ensuring seamless collaboration with global product and engineering leadership. This is a hands-on, player-coach leadership role for an experienced technology professional who can define technical direction while remaining closely involved in execution. As a key member of the GCC's founding leadership team, you will report to the VP & Country Manager and serve as the primary technology leader for the Hyderabad center.

Key Responsibilities
1. Team Building & Leadership
• Recruit, onboard, and develop the Hyderabad technology team across software development, QA, and technical support functions.
• Define team structures, roles, and career progression frameworks in collaboration with HR and the Country Manager.
• Build a high-performance engineering culture focused on accountability, continuous learning, collaboration, and delivery excellence.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, one-on-one meetings, and career development discussions.
• Mentor emerging technical leaders and build a sustainable leadership pipeline. 2. Technology Delivery & Engineering Excellence
• Own delivery outcomes for all Hyderabad-based technology workstreams, ensuring delivery velocity, quality, and reliability.
• Partner with global engineering and product leadership to align on priorities, sprint planning, and roadmap execution.
• Establish and implement engineering standards, code review practices, development methodologies, and QA processes.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering productivity, software quality, and operational efficiency.




• Manage technical support SLAs, escalation processes, and resolution of client-facing technology issues. 3. Infrastructure, IT & Security
• Oversee local IT infrastructure, endpoint management, and workplace technology setup for the GCC.
• Ensure adherence to information security policies, access controls, and applicable data protection and localization requirements.
• Coordinate with global IT and security teams on systems, tools, infrastructure, and incident management.
• Establish scalable technology infrastructure and operational processes to support the GCC's growth. 4. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
• Manage relationships with third-party technology vendors, contractors, and managed service providers.
• Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions for local technology requirements in collaboration with global leadership.
• Act as the primary technology point of contact in Hyderabad for cross-functional stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and Operations.
• Drive effective collaboration between India-based teams and global stakeholders across different time zones. Candidate Profile : Experience & Qualifications
• 17+ years of overall technology experience, with at least 5+years in a leadership role managing engineering or IT teams.
• Prior experience in a Global Capability Center (GCC), captive center, BPO/KPO, or multinational technology organization.
• Demonstrated experience in building technology teams from the ground up and scaling them in a high-growth environment.
• Experience working with global product and engineering teams, preferably with U.
S.-based stakeholders.
• Background in SaaS, software product development,



or technology-enabled professional services environments is preferred. Technical Expertise
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile/Scrum methodologies, and quality assurance practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, modern engineering tools, and development practices.
• Experience managing corporate IT infrastructure, endpoint management, and security operations.
• Ability to oversee both software engineering and IT/technical support functions. Leadership Attributes
