About CargoSprint
CargoSprint accelerates cargo movement across air, ocean, road, and rail through cutting-edge payment, appointment, and visibility solutions. We build technology that connects logistics operations, streamlines complex workflows, and improves the movement of goods across the supply chain.
Our engineering teams work at the intersection of logistics infrastructure, agentic AI, and contemporary cloud architecture to build scalable, reliable software that powers real-world freight operations.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with strong expertise in TypeScript, React, Node.js, and AWS serverless architecture to build and deliver end-to-end product features.
In this role, you will take ownership of features across the entire technology stack—from database schema design and backend APIs to intuitive, high-performance user interfaces. You will build serverless services, event-driven workflows, and AI-powered capabilities that simplify complex logistics operations for carriers, brokers, and shippers.
You will work within an established engineering ecosystem, following proven architectural patterns and delivering against a well-defined product backlog. We value engineers who combine strong technical fundamentals with pragmatic execution, sound engineering judgment, and a commitment to shipping production-ready software.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys building, taking ownership, and delivering meaningful product outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Feature Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack features using React, TypeScript, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.
- Frontend Engineering: Build responsive, maintainable, and performant user interfaces using modern React patterns, reusable components, and effective state management.
- Backend Development: Develop scalable APIs and backend services using Node.js and AWS Lambda, following serverless and event-driven design principles.
- Cloud Architecture: Build and maintain AWS-based serverless applications, including asynchronous processing workflows and serverless container workloads where appropriate.
- Infrastructure as Code: Provision, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure using SST and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Database Engineering: Design and evolve PostgreSQL schemas, optimize queries, manage migrations, and ensure data integrity.
- Technical Design: Contribute to architectural decisions involving data modeling, API contracts, system integration, and asynchronous processing patterns.
- Production Readiness:
Maintain high standards for code quality, automated testing, observability, reliability, and operational support.
- Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions.
- AI-Assisted Development: Use AI-powered development tools, including Claude Code, to improve engineering productivity, accelerate implementation, and support effective problem-solving.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript fundamentals, modern frontend development, and full-stack application architecture.
- Solid React expertise, including component composition, state management, performance optimization, and reusable UI patterns.
- Proven experience building and operating serverless or event-driven backend services using AWS Lambda.
- Practical experience designing and implementing REST APIs or equivalent service interfaces.
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and database migrations.
- Experience with SST for defining and managing cloud infrastructure.
- Understanding of asynchronous processing, event-driven systems, and cloud application reliability.
- Familiarity with software testing, debugging, code reviews, version control, and production troubleshooting.
- Ability to take ownership of assigned work, work independently within established patterns, and deliver high-quality software consistently.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools, particularly Claude Code, as part of everyday engineering workflows.
Technical Skills and Tools
Experience with the following technologies and libraries will be valuable:
- Frontend: React, TypeScript, TanStack, Motion, dnd-kit.
- Backend: Node.js, AWS Lambda, serverless application development.
- Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, SST, serverless containers, event-driven architectures.
- Database: PostgreSQL, relational data modeling, query optimization.
- Utilities & Data Processing: Turf, ExcelJS, jsondiffpatch, dayjs.
- AI-Assisted Development: Claude Code and multi-session AI-assisted coding workflows.
Candidates are not expected to have equal expertise in every library.
Strong fundamentals, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively within an existing technology stack are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with logistics, transportation, freight management, or supply chain platforms.
- Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), including linehaul operations, storage, multi-stop movements, and shipment coordination.
- Understanding of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and integrations commonly used in logistics ecosystems.
- Experience building systems that process complex operational data and asynchronous business workflows.
- Exposure to agentic AI, AI-enabled product features, or AI-assisted software engineering workflows.
- Experience operating production applications on AWS with a focus on performance, observability, and reliability.
What Success Looks Like
In this role, success means:
- Delivering end-to-end product features with minimal supervision and a strong sense of ownership.
- Building reliable, maintainable, and performant applications across the frontend, backend, and database layers.
- Following established architectural patterns while identifying practical opportunities for improvement.
- Producing production-ready code with appropriate testing, monitoring, and error handling.
- Using AI-assisted engineering tools effectively to improve delivery speed without compromising code quality.
- Contributing to a collaborative engineering culture focused on execution, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Why Join CargoSprint?
- Real-World Impact: Build software that powers real freight operations and solves tangible logistics challenges.
- Ownership and Autonomy: Work in small, high-ownership teams with direct responsibility for meaningful product outcomes.
- Modern Technology Stack: Work with TypeScript, React, Node.js, AWS serverless services, PostgreSQL, and modern infrastructure tooling.
