Aircraft Configuration & Technical Analysis
• Analyse aircraft configuration data, including MSN, aircraft registration, avionics build, MODSUM, customer configuration and applicable Part Numbers.
• Develop a sound understanding of the relationship between aircraft configuration, installed avionics systems and aircraft options.
• Assess the impact of aircraft options and modifications on the applicable APM configuration.
• Identify missing or inconsistent information and proactively resolve it before configuration generation.
• Understand and challenge technical inputs rather than simply processing them. APM & Avionics Configuration
• Generate and maintain aircraft-specific APM Option, APM 3rd Party, CCM and TPM configuration files.
• Configure aircraft functions and interfaces such as Autoland, CPDLC, HUD, Airport Moving Map, EFB, connectivity systems, ELT and TAWS-related functions according to the applicable aircraft and customer configuration.
• Perform XML validation, CRC generation, checksum verification and configuration cross-check activities.
• Analyse discrepancies, determine root causes and implement appropriate corrective actions. Configuration Management & Release
• Manage engineering and configuration artifacts, including MODSUM, NIEO, EDRN, Part Numbers and validation reports.
• Operate within engineering environments such as APET, Datalink, Enovia, LSAP Vault and SAP.
• Ensure configuration consistency, version control and traceability throughout the release workflow.
• Support formal preparation, verification, validation and Quality approval activities.
• Ensure configuration releases meet aircraft production and in-service milestones. Workload & Operational Management
• Manage a continuous workload of multiple parallel and sometimes repetitive configuration activities while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Prioritize activities according to aircraft milestones, production constraints and operational urgency.
• Remain flexible when priorities, aircraft configurations or delivery schedules change.
• Manage backlog and planned activities proactively rather than waiting for individual task assignment.
• Identify delays or bottlenecks and escalate them before they affect aircraft delivery. Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving
• Apply critical thinking when reviewing technical inputs and generated outputs.
• Challenge unclear, inconsistent or potentially incorrect aircraft configuration data.
• Investigate recurring errors and propose corrective or preventive actions.
• Suggest improvements to tools, workflows, checklists and working methods.
• Coordinate proactively with Engineering, Configuration Management and Quality stakeholders. Required Skills & Competencies COMPETENCY EXPECTATION Aircraft & avionics understanding Good understanding of aircraft systems, avionics architecture, aircraft configuration and the impact of aircraft options on software/configuration data. Configuration management Experience with engineering data, configuration baselines, versioning, traceability, Part Numbers and controlled release processes. Technical data Ability to work with XML/configuration files. Familiarity with checksums, CRC principles and validation mechanisms is advantageous. Workload management Ability to handle a significant volume of recurring and parallel activities while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines. Critical thinking Ability to question inputs, detect inconsistencies and understand the technical consequences of configuration decisions. Proactivity Takes ownership, investigates issues, coordinates stakeholders and proposes solutions without waiting for step-by-step instructions. Rigor and flexibility Combines strict compliance with controlled aerospace processes and the agility required for changing priorities and non-standard cases. Communication and English Good skilled written and spoken English is mandatory, including the ability to understand technical documentation and communicate with international teams.
Education & Professional Background Education BE / B.
Tech or equivalent engineering degree in one of the following disciplines:
• Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering
• Avionics
• Electronics & Communication Engineering
• Electrical or Electronics Engineering
• Another relevant engineering discipline Experience Ideally 3-5 years of aerospace engineering experience, with exposure to one or more of the following:
• Aircraft configuration or avionics engineering
• Aircraft modification and configuration applicability
• Engineering data or configuration management
• Avionics software/data configuration and release
• Aircraft production or in-service engineering support
• PLM and engineering change management Preferred Experience
• Airbus aircraft environment
• APM / Aircraft Personality Module
• APET, Enovia, Datalink, LSAP Vault or SAP
• TAWS configuration
• MODSUM and engineering change processes
• Aircraft production or in-service engineering The Profile We Are Looking For We are looking for an engineer who combines technical understanding, rigor and operational flexibility. The successful candidate should be comfortable managing repetitive and process-driven activities, but must not behave as a simple task executor. The candidate should understand the aircraft configuration behind the activity, identify inconsistencies, ask the right technical questions, manage priorities autonomously and propose solutions or process improvements when appropriate. What Will Make a Candidate Stand Out
• Can explain the impact of an aircraft option change on the applicable avionics configuration.
• Checks whether a proposed configuration makes technical sense for the aircraft rather than relying only on the checklist.
• Investigates unexpected Part Number, XML, CRC or checksum differences methodically.
• Distinguishes between input-data errors, configuration issues and process issues.
• Can prioritize a mixed backlog based on aircraft milestones, risk and operational urgency.
• Proposes a structured investigation when a case does not fit the standard procedure.
