Role Description This is a full time, on-site Microbiology Medical Technician role based in Pune City. The Microbiology Medical Technician will perform routine and specialized microbiological tests on patient samples, including specimen processing, culture preparation, staining, and identification of microorganisms. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, ensuring accurate documentation of test results, and adhering to standard operating procedures and infection control guidelines. The role involves collaborating with clinicians and other laboratory staff to support timely diagnosis, participating in quality control and calibration activities, and maintaining proper inventory and storage of reagents and supplies.



The technician is expected to follow all regulatory and safety protocols, contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory practices, and support training of new team members when required. Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of microbiology laboratory techniques, including specimen handling, culture methods, and microorganism identification.
• Ability to operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment such as incubators, microscopes, autoclaves, and analyzers.
• Proficiency in documenting results accurately, maintaining laboratory records, and following standard operating procedures.
• Understanding of infection control, biosafety standards, and proper use of personal protective equipment in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to recognize abnormal or critical findings and escalate appropriately.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clinicians, nurses, and fellow laboratory professionals.
• Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Microbiology, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Relevant experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory is preferred; new graduates with strong practical training may also be considered.
• Willingness to work full time on site in Pune City and to participate in shift or weekend duties as needed.
