Role Description The Cyber Security Engineer role at Halonex is a full time position responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure systems and infrastructure. On a day-to-day basis, this role involves performing security assessments, monitoring networks and applications for threats, and configuring security tools and controls. The Cyber Security Engineer will analyze vulnerabilities, develop mitigation plans, and collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security into products and services. Additional responsibilities include investigating security incidents, documenting findings, and contributing to security policies, standards, and best practices. The role also includes working with AI-driven security solutions, refining detection rules, and supporting continuous improvement of Halonex’s cyber defense capabilities.



Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong skills in Cybersecurity and Information Security, including threat analysis, risk assessment, and security architecture.
• Candidates should possess Network Security skills, such as configuring firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure network protocols.
• Candidates should possess Application Security skills, including secure coding practices, code review, and integration of security into the software development lifecycle.
• Candidates should possess Vulnerability Assessment skills, including use of scanning tools, interpreting results, and prioritizing remediation.
• Experience with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, OWASP) and familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) are beneficial.
• Proficiency with security tools (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS), scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Bash), and log analysis is preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, OSCP) are a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and adapt to rapidly evolving security threats.
