Job Title: Junior Accountant (Genesys Experience) – Retail Sector

0–2 years Job Summary: The Junior Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations for a retail entity, helping ensure accurate bookkeeping, inventory accounting, and reconciliations. The role involves working on finance systems, with exposure to Genesys applications that support retail sales, revenue, and customer transactions, under the guidance of senior team members.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist in month-end close activities, general ledger entries, and bank, sales, inventory, and receivables reconciliations.
• Record daily sales, returns, discounts, and promotional entries accurately in the finance system.
• Support revenue and commission accounting by matching Genesys transaction data with accounting records.
• Help reconcile store inventory with books and flag stock variances to seniors.
• Maintain accounts payable and receivable records, including vendor and customer ledgers.
• Assist in preparing financial statements, MIS reports, and audit schedules and documentation.
• Support GST, TDS,



and other statutory compliance work, such as data preparation and return filing assistance.
• Coordinate with store operations, supply chain, and sales teams to resolve data and billing discrepancies.
• Maintain organised accounting records and supporting documents.
• Follow company accounting policies and keep up with updates to accounting software and processes. Qualifications and

Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (B.
Com or M.
Com). CA Inter, CMA Inter, or a pursuing candidate is a plus.
• 0–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail or retail financial services. Freshers with strong fundamentals may be considered.
• Working knowledge of Genesys or similar ERP/accounting software (Tally, SAP, Zoho Books, etc.).
• Basic understanding of retail inventory, sales cycle accounting, and GST.
• Valuable working knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
• Strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and good communication skills.
