As the publishing arm of the Brahmaputra Trust, it provides end-to-end services including skilled editing, custom layout design, cover creation, printing, and multi-format distribution. The organization focuses on multilingual publishing in Assamese, Hindi, and English, covering fiction, non-fiction, academic, and research works. By specializing in regional languages and high-quality commercial printing, Brahmaputra Publications connects emerging writers with readers across Northeast India and beyond. Role Description The Officer – Design role is a full-time, hybrid position based in Vasai, with some flexibility for work-from-home arrangements. The Officer – Design will be responsible for creating book layouts, typography, and visual concepts that align with the publishing standards and brand guidelines of Brahmaputra Publications. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with editors and authors, preparing print-ready files, coordinating with printers, and ensuring consistent design quality across covers,



interiors, and promotional materials. The role also includes adapting designs for multiple formats, supporting multilingual projects, and maintaining organized design assets and documentation. Qualifications
• Strong graphic design skills, including layout, typography, and visual composition for print and digital publishing.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design and publishing tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar software).
• Experience with book production workflows, including typesetting, prepress preparation, and print-ready file creation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including editors, authors, and printers.
• Attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
• Understanding of multilingual design considerations; familiarity with Indian languages such as Assamese, Hindi, or English is an advantage.
• Relevant educational background in Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
