It builds strong links between experts, academia, and institutions to strengthen policy ecosystems. UPOF India advances evidence-led policy research and supports the development of future policy professionals who can drive inclusive and sustainable urban outcomes. Role Description The Public Policy Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, India. The specialist will track and analyze urban policy developments, regulations, and governmental initiatives at local, state, and national levels. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting policy research, preparing briefs and reports, supporting policy dialogues, and maintaining relationships with government agencies and legislative bodies. The role involves drafting communication materials for internal and external stakeholders, contributing to advocacy strategies, and collaborating with partners across academia and institutions.



The specialist will also support initiatives aimed at building the capacity of emerging policy professionals and strengthening UPOF India’s policy impact. Qualifications
• Strong Governmental Affairs and Government Relations skills, with the ability to engage constructively with public institutions and authorities.
• Experience in Legislative Relations, including tracking legislative processes and interpreting regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent Analytical Skills for policy analysis, impact assessment, and development of evidence-based recommendations.
• Transparent and effective Communication skills, including drafting briefs, reports, and presentations for diverse audiences.
• Relevant academic background in Public Policy, Political Science, Urban Studies, Economics, Law, or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience in public policy research, advocacy, or governance, preferably in urban or social sector contexts.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment and manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with standard office and research tools; familiarity with data analysis or visualization tools is an advantage.
