- Design Head MEP Job SummaryOrbittal is looking for an experienced Design Head – MEP to lead and oversee the complete design function across MEP projects. The role will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, compliant, efficient, and timely design delivery while driving design standards, cross-functional coordination, process improvement, and team development. Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the MEP design function across multiple projects.
• Ensure timely delivery of accurate and high-quality design outputs.
• Establish and implement design standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Review and approve design drawings, layouts, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, statutory codes, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, project teams, and other stakeholders for integrated design solutions.
• Oversee design calculations, material selection, and technical specifications.
• Identify and resolve complex technical and design-related challenges.
• Monitor team performance, productivity, resource allocation, and project deliverables.
• Mentor, guide, and develop the design team.




• Drive innovation, standardization, and continuous improvement in design processes.
• Maintain necessary documentation, MIS reports, and audit readiness.
• Support client meetings, presentations, and design reviews. JD
- Design Head MEP Key Skills & Competencies
• Strong expertise in MEP systems – Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and related design software.
• In-depth understanding of applicable codes, standards, and statutory regulations.
• Robust project planning, execution, and coordination capabilities.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to drive process improvements and design standardization. JD
- Design Head MEP Authority & Decision-MakingThe Design Head – MEP will have authority to approve design drawings, layouts, and technical submissions; manage the design team and allocate resources; recommend and approve materials, specifications, and design changes; and represent the design function in discussions with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders. Critical issues will be escalated to the VP – Design / Management as required. JD
