Platform Engineer – GCP, Kubernetes & Linux

2–4 Years Employment Type: Full-time Work Mode: Fulltime, Onsite Role Overview : We are looking for a hands-on Platform Engineer with strong experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and Linux administration. The candidate will be responsible for building, managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing cloud-native platforms that support scalable, reliable, and secure applications. The ideal candidate should have practical experience managing Kubernetes clusters, deploying containerized applications, administering Linux systems, and resolving infrastructure and platform-level issues in production environments.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters, preferably Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, and related resources.
• Administer Linux systems, including process management, file systems, permissions, networking, CPU, memory, and system performance troubleshooting.
• Work with GCP services such as GKE, Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Load Balancing.
• Troubleshoot pod failures, CrashLoopBackOff, ImagePullBackOff, networking issues, resource constraints, and application connectivity problems.
• Manage Kubernetes workloads, resource requests and limits, autoscaling, health probes, and rolling deployments.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking components, including DNS, load balancers, firewall rules,



ingress controllers, and service connectivity.
• Automate routine platform administration and operational tasks using Bash or Python scripting.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and platform health checks to improve availability and reliability.
• Support incident management, root cause analysis, performance optimization, and production issue resolution.
• Collaborate with application developers, cloud engineers, security teams, and architecture teams to improve platform stability and scalability.
• Follow security best practices for IAM, service accounts, secrets management, access control, and system patching. Mandatory Skills
• Solid hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Practical experience with GCP and GKE.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Good understanding of Docker or OCI containers.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes networking, services, ingress, storage, and workload management.
• Experience troubleshooting production infrastructure and platform issues.
• Working knowledge of Bash or Python scripting.
• Understanding of cloud networking, IAM, monitoring, and logging. Good-to-Have Skills
• Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
• CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
• Helm charts and Kubernetes package management.
• Prometheus, Grafana, and cloud-native monitoring tools.
• Nginx, reverse proxies, and load balancing.
• GCP certifications such as Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
