Role Description The Lathe Machine Operator will operate and maintain conventional lathe machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting up machines, selecting appropriate tools, adjusting speeds and feeds, and ensuring accurate measurements using gauges and instruments. The role involves reading technical drawings, checking finished parts for quality and tolerance, and performing routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.



The operator will collaborate with supervisors and other workshop staff to prioritize jobs, meet production schedules, and follow all safety procedures and company guidelines. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. Qualifications
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and basic technical documentation.
• Hands-on experience in operating conventional lathe machines, including setup, tooling, and workpiece alignment.
• Knowledge of measurement tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and the ability to verify tolerances.
• Understanding of workshop safety practices, machine guarding, and safe handling of tools and materials.
• Basic familiarity with related machining processes (e.g., drilling, tapping, turning, facing) is beneficial.
• Prior experience in an engineering or manufacturing workshop environment, preferably in electrical or hydraulic-related components.
• Ability to follow instructions, work with minimal supervision, and maintain consistent production quality.
• Minimum high school or equivalent education; vocational or technical training in machining or fitting is an advantage.
