This role leads and grows the Reports function within Mercans’ Global Payroll Software, HR Blizz (HRB), as an independent team separate from Product Configurators. Its central mandate is to transform how payroll reports are delivered — moving away from labor-intensive, Mercans-built configuration toward two complementary, AI-driven models: (1) client self-service reporting, where clients build, adapt, schedule, and run their own reports through intuitive, guided tooling; and (2) AI-assisted internal configuration, where an intelligent tool captures requirements and performs configuration actions in HR Blizz for the reports clients cannot or prefer not to build themselves. In both models, a person remains accountable for governance, accuracy, and statutory compliance. The Reports Team Lead owns this strategy end to end — shaping the reporting architecture and metadata it depends on, selecting or building the enabling tooling in partnership with Product and Development, and designing the review and governance workflow. The role leads the Senior Specialists – Reports, whose work shifts from manual report building toward client enablement, requirement definition, AI-tool oversight, and configuration review. It escalates highly complex technical issues to the Technical Advisor and partners closely with the QA Team Lead to safeguard quality.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting Strategy & Architecture: ● Define and own the strategy to shift report delivery from manual configuration to a combination of client self-service and AI-assisted internal configuration. ● Design the underlying data model, metadata schema, and system interfaces (APIs, structured configuration objects) that make reports both machine-configurable and safely exposable to clients for self-service. ● Translate the strategy into a prioritized technical roadmap, in partnership with Product and Development, and track progress against defi ned milestones. ● Define the human-review workflow and approval gates that keep a person accountable for accuracy and compliance across both self-service and AI-generated configurations. Client Self-Service Reporting ● Lead the design and rollout of a self-service reporting capability that lets clients build, 1 adapt, schedule, and run their own reports with minimal Mercans intervention. ● Partner with Product/UX and Development to shape an intuitive, guided report builder — including natural-language / AI-assisted requirement capture where it adds value — backed by reusable templates and parameterized report libraries clients can operate safely. ● Establish the permissions, guardrails, and data-governance controls that let clients self-serve without compromising data integrity or statutory accuracy. ● Drive client enablement — documentation, in-product guidance, and onboarding — that grows self-service adoption and steadily reduces manual configuration demand. AI-Assisted Configuration & Automation ● Scope, select, or build the AI/automation capability that captures requirements and performs report configuration actions in HR Blizz, evaluating vendor and in-house options for requirement capture, configuration execution, and validation. ● Champion reusable, parameterized templates, dynamic dashboards, scheduled report generation, and automated validation/testing that support both the self-service and AI-assisted pipelines.

● Identify systemic gaps between reporting requirements and current platform/tooling capability; define technical specifications for tooling and platform enhancements, prioritized by business impact and engineering effort. ● Establish version-control, environment-promotion, and technical-documentation standards for both the reporting configuration and the enabling tooling. Team Leadership & Technical Development ● Lead, mentor, and manage the performance of the Senior Specialists – Reports, guiding their transition from manual report-building toward client enablement, requirement definition, AI-tool oversight, and configuration review. ● Provide technical direction on SQL query design, Thymeleaf/templating internals, report-engine architecture, and the self-service and AI-assisted configuration workflows, raising the team’s overall capability. ● Plan team capacity and workload across custom and statutory report requests, balancing client priorities against the self-service and automation initiatives. ● Recruit, onboard, and develop new team members as the Reports function grows independently of Product Configurators. End-to-End Report Delivery Oversight ● Own the full lifecycle of report delivery — requirement capture, self-service enablement or AI-assisted configuration, human review, QA testing, client delivery, and post-deployment support — ensuring consistent quality and delivery timelines. ● Act as the escalation point for complex, high-priority, or at-risk configurations — including cases self-service and automation cannot reliably handle — engaging the Technical Advisor to resolve advanced SQL, templating, or data-mapping issues. Multi-Country Compliance & Statutory Reporting ● Ensure statutory and compliance reports (tax authority submissions, wage summaries, year-end filings, etc.) are built and maintained accurately across all supported countries, using automation where appropriate and keeping high-risk statutory reports under controlled expert oversight rather than open self-service. ● Establish a process — including automated monitoring where feasible — to detect 2 regulatory and legislative changes and rapidly incorporate them into statutory report configurations, with human review before go-live. ● Maintain rigorous oversight of statutory report accuracy and data integrity, given audit and penalty exposure. Quality, Testing & Governance ● Define and enforce QA standards, test plans, and human-review sign-off processes for self-service, AI-generated, and manually configured reports — in close partnership with the QA Team Lead. ● Establish governance guardrails for the automation and self-service capabilities — audit trails, rollback procedures, permissions, and confidence thresholds that trigger mandatory human review. ● Monitor quality and delivery metrics — defect ratios, SLA adherence, and resolution time — and drive continuous, data-informed improvement, jointly with the QA Team Lead.

● Oversee root-cause analysis of recurring configuration and data issues — including those introduced by the automated tool or by self-service — distinguishing systemic architectural gaps from one-off defects, and ensuring permanent corrective actions are implemented. 8. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration ● Serve as the primary point of contact for Reports-related technical and delivery matters with global clients, Payroll Operations, Compliance, Support, Sales, and Engineering. ● Work closely with the Technical Advisor on the resolution of high-complexity technical issues, and with the QA Team Lead to safeguard quality across the reporting portfolio. ● Coordinate with teams driving other automation-first initiatives (such as automated unit testing) to share tooling patterns and lessons learned. ● Represent the Reports function in cross-departmental planning, including the transition to an independently managed team, and report on team performance, strategy progress, and risks to the Director of Configuration & Integrations. Qualifications &

Experience:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. ● Minimum 7 years of experience in payroll, HCM, or WFM reporting/confi guration, including at least 2 years in a team lead or technical leadership capacity, preferably in a multi-country/global setting. ● Hands-on experience with AI/LLM-based tools or agentic automation frameworks that perform actions within a software system (e.g., RPA, computer-use/agentic AI, or similar automated configuration or testing tools), with demonstrated ability to evaluate, select, or build such a capability. ● Expert-level technical proficiency in MS SQL (query design, performance tuning, stored procedures), HTML, XML, Thymeleaf (or a comparable templating engine), and Markdown, with deep hands-on experience configuring reports in HR Blizz or a comparable payroll/HCM platform. ● Demonstrated experience architecting a metadata-driven or config-driven reporting framework — including data schema design, parameterization, and structured APIs — designed to be reliably read and operated by an automated or AI-driven tool. ● Working knowledge of scripting/automation (e.g., Python, Groovy, or similar), prompt/requirement engineering, version control (Git), and environment promotion or CI/CD practices applied to configuration or report deployment. ● Solid understanding of relational database design, data modeling, and ETL/data-integration concepts as applied to payroll and HR reporting. ● Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to develop and troubleshoot complex formulas and pivot tables. ● Proven people-leadership skills, including experience mentoring, coaching, and managing the performance of technical specialists through periods of tooling and process change. ● Solid stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging global clients, compliance teams, and product/engineering leadership. ● Exceptional attention to detail, documentation, and process adherence, particularly around statutory and compliance reporting and around governance of AI-generated configurations. ● Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in globally distributed teams. ● Familiarity with data visualization, dashboards, BI tools, and API-based reporting integrations. ● Knowledge of Agile methodologies, SaaS platforms, and cloud-based payroll systems is preferred.
