Designation: Accountant – Import/Export & Customs

Reports To: Finance Manager / Management

1. Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain day-to-day accounting, financial records, purchase entries, sales entries, and bank reconciliations.
2. Handle import and export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, shipping bills, bills of entry, and other relevant documents.
3. Coordinate with customs agents, freight forwarders, shipping companies, and clearing and forwarding (C&F;) agents.
4. Verify customs duties, import charges, IGST, freight costs, and other applicable expenses.
5. Maintain records of import/export transactions and ensure compliance with applicable customs, GST, and foreign trade regulations.
6. Coordinate with banks for foreign remittances, Letters of Credit (LCs), and other import/export payment documentation, as applicable.
7. Track shipments, delivery schedules, and related documentation for imported renewable energy equipment and components.
8. Maintain vendor accounts, process payments, and reconcile supplier statements.
9. Assist with GST returns, TDS, statutory compliance,



and preparation of financial reports.
10. Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and management reporting.
11. Visit ports, customs offices, warehouses, or project sites when required for documentation and coordination.

- Required Qualifications & ExperienceB.Com / M.Com or equivalent qualification in Accounting or Finance.
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably with import/export operations.
- Practical knowledge of customs clearance, import documentation, GST, and foreign remittances.
- Experience coordinating with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and shipping agents.
- Working knowledge of Tally, Excel, and accounting software.
- Experience in renewable energy, solar, electrical equipment, or infrastructure will be an advantage.
- Preferred SkillsStrong knowledge of import costing and customs documentation.
- Valuable coordination and follow-up skills.
- Attention to detail and compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and accounting records independently.
