Company Description El Shaddai Charitable Trust is a registered, non-profit, non-sectarian and non-religious organisation in Goa, established in 1995 by Anita Edgar and Matthew Kurian. For over three decades, we have worked in education, child protection, women’s empowerment and advocacy for children’s rights, especially for marginalised children, including street children and orphans.

Our work includes

- Six residential Homes, three Shelters and five Community Centres
- A Destitute Women’s Shelter and a Destitute Men’s Shelter
- Six schools, along with Cottages for senior students pursuing university, college, technical education or professional training, or who are working
- Meals on Wheels, a daily free food programme serving midday meals to around 800 children and adults living on the streets and in slums
- Adult literacy, vocational training, women’s empowerment and remedial coaching for school dropouts

Role Overview

We are looking for a creative, compassionate and organised Social Media Manager to build our online presence, connect with supporters and help raise funds for our work. This is an on-field role based at our Goa office. You will regularly visit our daycares, homes, shelters and offices to gather content first-hand, and you will be the voice of El Shaddai online, sharing stories of impact while always respecting the dignity and privacy of the people we serve.

Field visits and content collection

- Visit our daycares, homes, shelters, community centres and offices on a regular schedule to capture photos, videos and stories
- Document daily life, events, celebrations and programmes such as Meals on Wheels
- Speak with staff, teachers and volunteers to gather authentic stories and updates
- Follow child-safety and consent guidelines: take permission before photographing or filming, and never share sensitive personal details

Social media management

- Plan,



create and manage content for Instagram and LinkedIn
- Build a monthly content calendar covering events, field stories, campaigns and awareness days
- Write engaging captions and design posts, reels and stories (using tools like Canva)
- Showcase the range of our work, from schools and shelters to women’s empowerment programmes
- Respond to comments and messages, and grow our community of supporters
- Track performance and share monthly reports on reach, engagement and growth

Email communication

- Manage email communication with donors, volunteers and partners
- Maintain a basic database of supporters and subscribers

Donation drives and fundraising

- Support the planning and promotion of donation drives and fundraising campaigns
- Create campaign content such as posts, posters, countdowns and donation appeals
- Share regular updates on how contributions are used, to build trust and transparency
- Help document events and drives on the ground

Required Skills

- Strong written communication in English (Hindi and Konkani are a plus)
- Experience managing social media accounts (personal, college or skilled)
- Basic photography, design and video editing skills (Canva, CapCut, Adobe or similar)
- Familiarity with email tools such as Gmail or Mailchimp
- Good organisation and time management

Preferred Qualities

- Genuine interest in social causes and child welfare
- Sensitivity and empathy when portraying vulnerable communities
- Comfort working in varied field settings, including community centres and shelters
- Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources
- Own smartphone or camera and reliable means of travel within Goa
- Prior experience with NGO or fundraising communication preferred (not mandatory)
