Role Description The SMSF Accountant will manage end-to-end Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF) accounting and compliance, including processing transactions, preparing financial statements, and completing annual tax returns. Daily responsibilities include reviewing source documentation, maintaining accurate SMSF ledgers, reconciling bank and investment accounts, and ensuring work is review-ready for partner sign-off. The role also involves applying relevant superannuation and tax regulations, coordinating with client firms on queries, and maintaining clear workpapers and audit trails.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Delhi, India,



requiring close collaboration with the local team and offshore client practices.

Qualifications

- Strong SMSF accounting and taxation skills, including experience with SMSF financial statements, tax returns, and compliance rules.
- Proficiency in general accounting and bookkeeping, including ledger management, reconciliations, and year-end closing.
- Experience with accounting and SMSF software (e.g., BGL, Class, Xero, MYOB or similar platforms) and solid Excel skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply superannuation, GST/BAS, and income tax regulations in day-to-day work.
- High attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and strong review-ready workpaper preparation skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with client firms and internal team members.
- Capacity to work to deadlines, manage multiple SMSF files, and maintain quality in a process-driven environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce
- Prior experience in an accounting outsourcing or public practice setting supporting Australian clients is highly desirable.
