– Service Engineer, Crushing & Screening (Tamil Nadu / Kerala)

Role purpose The Service Engineer keeps customers' crushing & screening plants running by responding rapid to breakdowns and fixing faults at site. The role cuts plant downtime, finds the root cause of repeat problems and builds strong customer relationships across Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Key responsibilities

Breakdown response

- Attend breakdown calls at customer sites quickly and restore the plant to running condition.
- Repair or replace failed parts such as bearings, shafts, liners, screen media, belts and hydraulic components.
- Arrange urgent spares from the factory or stores when needed.
- Keep the customer and manager updated until the plant is back in operation.

Troubleshooting

- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, lubrication and electrical faults on jaw, cone and VSI crushers, vibrating screens, feeders and conveyors.
- Investigate problems such as high vibration, overheating, low output, wrong product size and belt misalignment.
- Carry out root cause analysis for repeat failures and recommend permanent fixes.

Preventive maintenance & inspections
- Conduct periodic plant inspections and health checks.
- Advise customers on maintenance schedules, wear part replacement and correct operation.
- Supervise wear part and liner changes and major overhauls.

Customer support & training




- Act as the main service contact for customers in the region.
- Train operators and maintenance staff on safe operation and basic upkeep.
- Identify spares and service sales opportunities and pass them to the office.

Warranty & reporting
- Attend warranty complaints and inspect failed parts.
- Prepare service reports with photos after every visit and get customer sign-off.
- Update complaint status and daily activity reports with the office.

Safety

- Follow lock-out/tag-out and site safety rules on every job.
- Use correct PPE and safe lifting practices.

Qualifications & skills

Education: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Required:

- 5–10 years of service or maintenance experience on crushing & screening plants, mining or heavy equipment
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills on crushers, screens, feeders and conveyors
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, lubrication systems and basic electrical controls
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and parts manuals
- Good communication in Tamil or Malayalam, plus English or Hindi
- Valid driving licence; willing to travel at short notice

Preferred:

- Experience with a crushing & screening equipment manufacturer or dealer
- Knowledge of condition monitoring (vibration, temperature)
- Basic MS Excel and report writing
