IndiGo, BluChip Loyalty
Role Overview
BluChip is IndiGo's loyalty program, built to reward every member for choosing IndiGo and to make each journey simpler and more valuable. We are scaling it into a world class loyalty and travel ecosystem that brings together rewards, co-brand cards, financial services and partnerships, backed by strong data and technology.
Health of BluChip decides how much repeat flying, direct booking and customer value the airline earns over the years. This role owns the performance-management framework for that health.
The Senior
Manager tracks every leading and lagging metric, identifies risks and opportunities across scale, engagement and economics, and works with partners and internal teams on the initiatives that move those numbers.
We are looking for someone who has run a large loyalty program, reads data first hand and can turn a trend into a decision.
Key Deliverables
Program Health and Metrics
- Metric tree: Define and own leading metrics including enrolment, activation, active-member rate, partner earning, redemption engagement and tier progression, and lagging metrics including repeat flying, direct-booking share, revenue per member, partner contribution and liability.
- Review rhythm: Run a weekly and monthly review that tells leadership whether scale, engagement and economics are on track, and what needs to change if they are not.
- Targets and early warnings: Set targets and thresholds for each metric, with a named owner for every gap.
Data and Insight
- Hands on analysis: Slice the data by cohort, tier, route, channel and partner to find trends before they show up in headline numbers.
- From insight to decision: Turn findings into specific recommendations on earn rates, tier rules, offers and redemption.
- Self serve reporting:
Work with the data team to build dashboards that the program team and leadership use without a request.
- Member incrementality: Measure whether the program drives incremental frequency, direct bookings, ancillary purchases, retention and customer value.
Program Economics
- Economics and liability: Track points issued and redeemed, breakage, liability, cost per point, cost of advantages, partner funding, redemption mix and net incremental contribution, and recommend interventions.
- Change discipline: Model the customer and financial impact of proposed changes to earn rates, redemption rules, tier qualification and benefits before launch.
- Sustainable scale: Monitor program profitability as it grows, and raise risks early.
Partners and Initiatives
- Partner portfolio: Track partners across member adoption, transaction frequency, points issued or redeemed, partner funding and incremental value; support reviews and recommend interventions.
- Initiatives that move metrics: Define each initiative with a clear hypothesis, success metric and read date, using a control group or test-and-learn design where feasible, and scale what works.
- Cross functional delivery: Work with Product, Marketing, Finance and Technology to get initiatives live on time.
Ideal Profile
- Has run a large loyalty program in an airline, hotel, retail, bank or fintech, and understands how scale, engagement and economics trade off.
- Comfortable with data first hand: writes queries or works in BI tools and Excel, and does not wait for a report to see a trend.
- Strong commercial sense, with a clear view of unit economics, points liability and incremental value.
- Has built and managed partner relationships where both sides had to see value.
- Structured and concise with senior leadership, and able to present a hard number plainly.
- Typically 8 to 12 years of experience, with at least a few years in a loyalty or customer value role.
